नारी शक्ति की प्रतीक, वात्सल्य, सेवा, परोपकार, उत्सर्ग की शक्तिस्वरूपा माता गुजरी जी का जन्म #करतारपुर (#जालंधर) निवासी लालचंद व बिशन कौर जी के घर सन् 1627 में हुआ था। 8 वर्ष की आयु में उनका विवाह करतारपुर में श्री तेग बहादुर साहब के साथ हुआ।

विवाह के कुछ समय पश्चात गुजरी जी ने करतारपुर में मुगल सेना के साथ युद्ध को अपनी आंखों से मकान की छत पर चढ़कर देखा। उन्होंने गुरु तेग बहादुर जी को लड़ते देखा और बड़ी दिलेरी से उनकी हौसला अफजाई कर अपनी हिम्मत एवं धैर्य का परिचय दिया।
