I was proud to serve as the #Tobacco21 bill’s lead sponsor in the Senate. This law puts MA at the forefront of preventing youth addiction to tobacco and nicotine, in order to improve health, save lives, and reduce healthcare costs.

This bill could not have been possible without the tireless efforts, over the last several years, of many of my colleagues and allies, including @RepPaulMcMurtry , @repkatehogan , and @Sen_Chandler and members of my staff, especially Zach Crowley and Dennis Burke.
This legislation is needed now more than ever because of the epidemic of vaping and e-cigarette use in our schools. It's vitally important to limit access to tobacco and nicotine products in high school social networks.
As we know from recent action announced by the Attorney General, the tobacco and nicotine industry are once again targeting young people with predatory marketing techniques to draw them in to addictive, expensive and unhealthy habits.
