If the "person with the vagina" gets pregnant while taking testosterone, the foetus may be harmed. But that's a bit of a downer, so let's not dwell on that.

On the other hand, both the "person with the vagina" and the "person with the penis" may become sterile due to the hormones. That's a bit of a downer too, so let's just vaguely mention to these teenagers that they might freeze their sperm or eggs.

Well, with opposite-sex hormones, the male's testicles and prostrate will shrink, it'll be difficult to keep up an erection, the female's vagina won't lubricate well, penetrative sex might be difficult or less desirable.

Now if you get some of your pesky bits such as your penis or your breasts cut off, you'll feel much more confident about your body! And sex will be so much better!
Scars instead of breasts might take getting used to though.
But you don't HAVE to do it.
Though it's the done thing.

If you, a young male, get your penis cut off & an have an orifice pierced in your body, or you, a young female, get a tubular implant with a mechanical lifting device, ummm... well then the sex is so-so but THE RETURN IN PLEASURE IS GENERALLY WELL WORTH THE EMOTIONAL INVESTMENT.

If fact, you might not enjoy sex at all anymore, and you might lose sensation in your body. But hey, compromise, adjustment, risk assessment.

BTW, if you want to know what's meant by the delicate euphemisms "bottom surgery" or "genital reshaping", this medical site for surgeons details phalloplasty (construction of an artificial penis).
