Alathiyur Subrahmanya temple in Malappuram Kerala was lying in ruins for close to a century, before we started revival. Land was encroached and legs and head of Subrahmanya idol cutoff during during 1921 riots.

Volunteers now trying hard for getting electricity connection for Alathiyur Subrahmanya temple Malappuram. Electricity required for stone work in temple.

Due to additional poles to be erected, fees are exhorbitant.

Shilpi working on stones to be used for Garbagriha of Alathiyur Subrahmanya temple, Kerala.

They come from families doing temple work for centuries. Use of machines have made cutting stones easier. However designs on stones are still done by hand tools.

Key of the restored Garbagriha of Alathiyur Subrahmanya temple was handed over to Keshavan Namboodiri , the 95 year old Brahmin who had protected the temple ruins for decades.

He inturn offered key to the Deity who is the rightful owner of the temple.
