Raikes was a seriously (and I mean seriously) right-wing politician with strong links to Rhodesia. He was also mentioned in Playland by @anthonydaly01 and an executive member of the Monday Club.

Anthony Tosswill (sic) Courtney, a sailor and intelligence agent, became MP for Harrow East in early 1959 after Ian Harvey was caught in flagrante delicto with a guardsman in St. James's Park. His main claim to fame was a KGB campaign against him.

John Gouriet, a British army officer, was a close associate of Raikes. In 1975, he was co-founder of the ultra-right National Association for Freedom (NAFF) together with Viscount De L'Isle, Norris McWhirter and Ross McWhirter, which became The Freedom Association in 1978.

According to his obituary, Gouriet suddenly left NAFF in June 1978, the year it was renamed, having fallen out with its chairman, Viscount de Lisle. NAFF made a name for itself intervening in industrial disputes.

One such industrial dispute was the Grunwick strike, with a stand-off between a NAFF-backed employer, a film processing laboratory, on the one hand and union-backed workers on the other. The dispute was prolonged and violent, with more than 550 arrests.

Peters resurfaced in 1989 as a ringleader in Operation Hedgerow. The ring had connections to 'highly placed civil servants and well-known public figures'. Peters was convicted to 8 years in prison.

It is ironic that video screens were used for the first time at Peters trial in 1988, allowing only the judge to see the child victims in person, given the fact that Colin Peters used camera equipment to make porn films of the boys he abused.

So what relevance does Colin Peters have to Grunwick or, indeed what links him to Gouriet? Well, both Peters and Gouriet had strong ties to Whitehall where Gouriet was seen at parties (Playland by Anthony Daly) and Peters worked for Grunwick in a VAT dispute.

I have frequently commented on links between far-right nutcases from the Monday Club and its associates and South Africa and white supremacy (Govier, Laud, Greer ...), so it came as no surprise to find this article about a stash of silver and Kruggerrands at Grunwick:

Barbara Hewson's uncle Richard Denby was director of Pennine Radio, funded by Oyston, a close friend and business associates of Stuart Hall who Hewson defended in the press. Babsy's cousin Jonathan, brought up by uncle Richard, was best friend of 270 broadcaster Harvey Proctor.

On a highly topical note, Sir Roger Gale MP has been invited to sit on the Queen's privy in the New Year's Honours list. Pundits are largely in agreement that this is nothing short of a bribe by Theresa May to twist his arm in the Brexit debate.

From 1964 to 1965, Gale worked as a disc-jockey for Radio Caroline. From late 1965 to 1967, he helped set up and run Radio 270, 'Voice of the North', together with a number of Yorkshire businessmen, including Proudfoot, who employed Proctor friend Christine Hamilton as secretary.

Over at Harvey Proctor's Radio 270, one paedophile called Alan Fossey went under a number of names. At 270 he was Ross Randell and at Northsea International he was Alan West. Broadcasting off the coast of Israel he was Rob Scott.

Capt. Hayward's book 'Under fire' with a foreword by John Gorst MP shares its title with one by Contragate's Oliver North, a name mentioned in correspondence between Bee Carthew and Enoch Powell concerning Jonathan Denby, a man with shipping links to Iran.

In 1967, Harvey Proctor gave a series of talks on 270, interviewing Biggs-Davison and Patrick Wall, Monday Club chairmen either side of Raikes, who provided Dickens with his second dossier.
Biggs: 'A voice of freedom will have been silenced when Radio 270 goes off the air'.

Proctor and Denby, close life-long friends since their time at York, were both aides to Enoch Powell.
It is highly likely they were among the 200 or so supporters behind Radio Enoch, a station which openly flaunted its illegality.

Scotland Yard admitted using Grunwick for some of their crime photos after a striker described a car blown up by the IRA in Connaught Sq. Ironically, the bomb was intended for John Gorst MP, factotum of Grunwick owner George Ward.

Radio 270's Austin Mitchell has strong links to another McKenzie Friends member. He and the recently convicted Sabine McNeill, together with Lord Sudeley, were founding members of the Forum for Stable Currencies in 1988 which held meeting in the Lords.

Lord Sudeley links to a couple of weird institutions such as the Monarchist League and the Manorial Society. 270's Biggs-Davison was on the League's Council of Honour. Sudeley was a Monday Club member and chaired Western Goals meetings in Westminster.

Alongside Hewson uncle Richard Denby and Austin Mitchell MP, another founder member at Radio Pennine was Terry Bate. Terry later became a governor of Christ's Hospital School, a 'school like no other' which spawned as many paedophiles as Radio Pennine.

Steve Merike, Pennine's first presenter on Sept. 16, 1975, was paired with Ray Teret on another station on Dec. 24, 1974. Teret was a former chauffeur of Jimmy Savile who 'followed him like a shadow', and appeared with him on BBC’s ‘Top of the Pops‘.

In his book 'Credible and True', a misnomer if ever I heard one, Harvey Proctor named John Biggs-Davison as one of his closest friends. Biggs-Davison was a right-wing Tory, member of the Monday Club and Powell friend, although earlier he had been a member of the Communist Party.

Biggs-Davison's wife Pamela was a code breaker at Bletchley Park, Hut 7, first working on the German Enigma and then deciphering Japanese naval codes. Aptly, her cover story was that she was a radio engineer. She later trained to become a professional opera singer.

Nearby Hut D(6) at Bletchley Park housed one Kathleen Joan Denby, mother of the delectable Barbara Hewson, cousin of Proctor's best mate, and brother of Pennine Radio's Sir Richard Denby.
