I had hoped that #mediareform would be achievable through the normal mechanisms of liberal civil society. But the highly disciplined irresponsibility of the existing media class has made it almost impossible to make the case for systemic change in the communications regime.
My aim in this piece was to tie #mediareform to the wider constitutional agenda by reviving the democratic principle of communicative equality, the $50 word for which is isegoria. Hence the togas.
