Delighted to share our new @biorxivpreprint: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
The first results of our ongoing collaboration with the wonderful @gtesta72 lab [Thread] 1/

The study provides a functional dissection of chromatin remodeler BAZ1B in neural crest stem cells from typical and atypical patients harboring 7q11.23 Copy Number Variants (incl. Williams Syndrome patients). 2/

Our results point to a crucial role of BAZ1B in shaping the human face, which we use as an experimental paradigm to test the #selfdomestication hypothesis for the first time. 3/

Kudos to everyone involved; deepest thanks to @MatteoZanella88, Alessandro Vitriolo & @gtesta72 for leading the experimental work; to @AGMAndirko and @ptsgmartins from my group for providing key interpretations at a critical stage and of course to @gtesta72 for making this happen
