#LiesOfDevdutt 1:
I offer my Sadar Pranama to the Ishwara within you @devduttmyth ji. As starter of series I have picked this article & have explained its errors in thread below. Pl respond in your full capacity cc @Sanjay_Dixit @IndianInterest mumbaimirror.indiatimes.com/opinion/column…

2/n @devduttmyth as a starter I found that your understanding of Sanskrit language is fundamentally wrong which is clearly reflected by use of “Ram” instead of “Rama”. Any idea what’s the difference between two? If not read👇🏼

3/n Without 'a' the word remains incomplete.'a' represents 'अ' of devnagari and it is used to complete a word when u don't need the half letter.Without 'a'/अ it would be राम्and when you add 'अ' it becomes राम.It's one of the basic rules of Sanskrit grammar.

4/n Hence the spelling 'Rama’. The pronunciation of राम् & राम differs accordingly.When you add vowel 'a' after a consonant,that particular consonant is pronounced explicitly.Without 'a' the pronunciation of consonant remains incomplete.This video may help

5/n @devduttmyth ji have you really read Ramayana? Is this the reason that ‘Chandra’ is added to ‘Rama’(image1)?

Let me clarify for you why we know ‘Rama’ as ‘Ramachandra’. Read from 6/n

6/n In Aranya Kanda, while narrating the Viradha vadha, Valmiki compares the Rama-Lakshmana duo with Sun and Moon:

ततः तु तौ कांचन चित्र कार्मुकौ
निहत्य रक्षः परिगृह्य मैथिलीम् |
विजह्रतुः तौ मुदितौ महावने
दिवि स्थितौ चन्द्र दिवाकरौ इव || ३-४-३४

Translation👇🏼

7/n Then they two who have dazzling golden bows have eliminated that demon and retrieved Seetha, and they gladly journeyed on in that great forest like the two entities abiding on the skies, namely the Sun and Moon. [3-4-34]

8/n @devduttmyth let me give you more references.

Ayodhya Kanda sarga 17 of Valmiki Ramayana.
Translation 👇🏼

9/n “If we can see Rama going forth in the city after getting coronated today, it is enough of eating or other activities."

Translation👇🏼

10/n "There is no other dearer thing to us than coronation of Rama of unbounded splendour".

Translation👇🏼

11/n Though Rama became distant, no one could turn back one's eyes and mind from him, the best of men.

Translation 👇🏼

12/nPeople blamed the one who didn’t see Rama & the one who was not seen by Rama.Such a person would blame himself of it.They were disappointed very much when they didn't have a look at Rama &waited for him just like we wait for the beauty of the full moon wn there is a new moon

13/n They waited for Rama's arrival when he went away form them & went to his father just like the ocean waits for the moon to rise.

Translation 👇🏼

15/n When Rama went nearer to his father, all the people there were delighted waiting for his return as the ocean waits for raising of the moon.

@devduttmyth As Rama is compared with the moon in the above shlokas, the name Ramachandra became popular.

16/n So @devduttmyth your claim that Ram-chandra, eclipsed his name with the moon to acknowledge his unfair treatment of his innocent wife Sita, is absolute bunkum.

Let’s move ahead in your article.

17/n @devduttmyth you use the story of Raja Bhoja’s 32 qualities to mock the democratic process: elections. You call government as ‘king’. Do you even understand what you are trying to say? Such a juvenile thought? Let me explain in case you didn’t.

18/n The concept of democracy itself means to chose the popular representatives. The votes are won through emotional rhetoric only when public is unaware & uneducated. I can’t deny such things are often practiced by politicians which becomes very human nature.

19/n @devduttmyth in case you have problem with that idea then can you first clarify why did you lie about ‘Ramachandra’ in this article? Wasn’t it an emotional rhetoric? You must understand that politician is no different than us. He is not a royal blood unlike the past.

20/n You will get the same quality of politician as is the public. You may call it ‘beauty’ or ‘ugliness’ but that’s the core character of democracy. So first you yourself become honest before questioning the politicians.

21/n You must realise that you aren’t a ‘darbari’ of royal court who has all liberty to do everything stupid while expecting the ruler(government now) to work with morality.

Democracy gives back what you deserve.

22/n Sticking to that paragraph, I also want to ask you that since you yourself have used a rhetoric can you please give a direct answer for: who do you think is a perfect politician and can be our PM?

Let’s be direct and honest. Don’t play the game: I’m ‘apolitical’.

23/n @devduttmyth you talk of enemies: real & imagined. So do you actually mean that Pakistan is an imaginary enemy or we India is often shown engaged with her unnecessarily?
(Sorry for being direct, as I don’t like rhetorics like you)

24/n @devduttmyth you talk of ‘blaming kings of yore for all gov failures.’

Let me be direct again & ask you to please mention few failures of Modi government which they have blamed on former? We can then only discuss if blaming former is right or not. You can’t generalise.

25/n In case you can’t mention & debate on it better don’t comment like a juvenile.

You even mention critics being severed. Mention instance please. It’s s serious issue not a fiction or myth.

26/n @devduttmyth I don’t know which era do you live in? You seem to be either having lots of problem with democracy or you don’t understand democracy at all.

Can you please give instance where ‘strong’ has suppressed ‘weak’ constitutionally?

27/n You say that politician only worry about votes & taxes. Do you think that public so naive to elect a government if their intent is only to collect vote. You must understand ‘Democracy’ is a wicket where Constitution is umpire & Public third umpire.

28/n In a democracy, none can survive if lust for vote is only character they have.

And do you really think that government hasn’t done any progress in the country. If so pl start standing in Bank again to deposit & withdraw.Or else mention it clearly where u think gov is wrong

N/n So this is my submission @devduttmyth ji (a thread of 28tweets) exposing lies/misunderstandings in one of you articles. I will continue this clinical series under #LiesOfDevdutt cc @RatanSharda55 @RituRathaur @ShefVaidya @Iyervval
