(1/6) The ACP data that released today is not easy to read, but we must take it in and appreciate what it tells us. Facts are our friends, even when we are disappointed by the results. bit.ly/2VNPqNk
(2/6) The numbers released today strengthen my resolve that every Southern Baptist - conventions, associations, entities, and especially local churches - must prioritize the Gospel above all. Scripture tells us that the gospel is the power to save.
(3/6) I was encouraged by the slight increases in giving. I look forward to ongoing discussions about our generosity, and how our systems can best aid in effective partnership toward the Great Commission.
(4/6) Like many, I am discouraged to see seven thousand less baptisms this year. It is the Lord who saves, but this information should spur us on even more to be intentional in evangelism. I hope that every Southern Baptist would participate in the Who's Your One initiative.
(5/6) For the upcoming generation, our prayer should be to see an increase in evangelism, church planting and revitalization, and ultimately an end to decades of decline. First things must be first, not only in our declarations but especially in our demonstrations.
(6/6) I pray that our annual meeting in Birmingham will spur all of us to that end. #SBC19
