Human rights culture requires that hateful and discriminatory manifestations of fundamentalist belief must cede in the public space to the interests of pluralism, diversity and tolerance. /3
So I regret that some in this confused country resist the whole idea of human rights, while others shrink from their consequences for fear of causing offence (though apparently not in Manchester, if @Amina_Lone is right). /4
