I swear, I don't know what is worst: that this theory exists in the first place, ignoring that it's loss of ecosystem services and severe weather that will lead to deaths, not human genetics...
Or that the guy who came up with the theory in the first place is a professor - of the Korean language - who lectures on this at Oxford, and hasn't been ridiculed out of a job yet?
Or that @NBCNews published this article at all, given that it amplifies the "Nah, we don't have to worry about climate change, because they aliens are hooking us up" narrative...
Or the plug for 23&me at the end.
And yes, I get the irony of amplifying it further, but... some things are so absurd -yet bound to be given credence by being written about in a serious manner - that you have to call them out.
Unless, of course, the goal is to identify those who claim to have this CO2-resistant DNA...
Maybe they sprout gills at 440ppm, so they'll be able to live in the coastal cities that are submerged by rising sea levels?
LOL, they can take over Mar-a-Lago.
