And we're here! Kicking off a week of strategic discussions about women's rights at #WD2019 in Vancouver. Huge thanks to @WomenDeliver & @YouthDeliver for creating this powerful space.

Throughout #WD2019 I'll be keeping an eye out for discussions about #ThePowerOf feminist sisterhood - an issue that's not big on the #WD2019 agenda, even though the spirit is strongly felt. We can't take down patriarchy if our community isn't anchored in solidarity and sisterhood

Follow this thread for my thoughts, encounters and experiences at #WD2019!

As an alumni from the 2010 cohort of the @WomenDeliver & @YouthDeliver Young Leaders programme, it's amazing to see today's #WD2019 young leaders workshop being attended by 1000+ amazing activists from around the world - and how real the discussions are getting. #ThePowerOf youth

Great performance by the sisters and brothers from East and Southern Africa at the #WD2019 young leaders workshop calling out violence against women. Ended with some dancing because... why not? 👇🏾

Great to hear from sisters from the Middle East and North Africa at #WD2019 about how young women are changing their countries. Powerful message from the Sudanese representatives: in Sudan, "women are not just leading the revolution, women ARE the revolution". #SudanUprising ✊🏾

Powerful talk by Ifrah Ahmed from @IfrahFoundation about her commitnent to #EndFGM at #WD2019 side event by @equalitynow @OrchidProject @Tostan and others. Can't wait to see "A Girl from Mogadishu", a movie about Ifrah's journey from survivor to activist, starring @ajanaomi_king

@aissataTINL, a Guinean activist and co-founder of @ThereIsNoLimitF tells us about her story of surviving FGM, her dream to #EndFGM in her lifetime, and her nightmare that at age 70, she'll be attending yet another meeting like this one. The sister gave me chills. #WD2019

The conversation about what it will take to #EndChildMarriage has gone such a long way. Great to see my former colleagues at @GirlsNotBrides explores issues of power and voice with an insightful panel at #WD2019.
