At this point, the article-a-day on what terrible new violence is happening in detention centers feels very similar to me to the sharing and resharing of viral videos of police assaulting Black people #AbolishICE #AbolishBorderPatrol #AbolishAllPrisons

The detailed descriptions of these intentional and violent abuses aren’t moving many of the readers/viewers. In fact, there are millions of people who are GRATIFIED by this violence, because it’s exactly what they WANT to see #AbolishICE #AbolishBorderPatrol #AbolishAllPrisons

We all know at this point how ugly and cruel the treatment of Black/Brown immigrants by ICE and Border Patrol is. Documenting the cruelty matters, but not as much as clarifying and committing to how we are going to take action #AbolishICE #AbolishBorderPatrol #AbolishAllPrisons

We can definitively say that we don’t need any more proof of how bad things are at detention centers #AbolishICE #AbolishBorderPatrol #AbolishAllPrisons

We need to march to these facilities and shut them down. We need to demand the abolition of ICE and Border Patrol from every elected official and candidate. We need to harbor undocumented people and families #AbolishICE #AbolishBorderPatrol #AbolishAllPrisons

We need to defund all the forms of militarization that are both pushing people from their homelands and punishing them for coming to the US, and reinvest in resources to support those communities, like childcare and housing #AbolishICE #AbolishBorderPatrol #AbolishAllPrisons
