1/6 The 2nd AMENDMENT (2A) has been hijacked too long for corporate and political profits. Here is the 2A in total: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” #2ndAmendment

2/6 The 2A does not protect the right of each PERSON to own and bear any arms they want. It protects the right of the PEOPLE, plural—that is, the corporate body of each STATE in the union—to keep & bear arms for the purpose of maintaining a “well regulated Militia.” #2ndAmendment

3/6 Private gun ownership as an end in itself is not addressed by the 2A. Rather, it addresses the individual State’s right to arm a “well regulated Militia” for the security of the State. #2ndAmendment

4/6 Some States expanded the intent of the 2A to encompass the right of individuals to own and bear arms for self-defense, which is the prerogative of the State to grant, but to legally restrict or even completely deny that privilege does not violate the 2A. #2ndAmendment

5/6 As an extreme hypothetical example, in order to make the point, if a State were to appoint and arm any chosen number of its citizens as a “well regulated Militia,” while outlawing all private gun ownership, the 2A would not be violated. #2ndAmendment

6/6 Politicians who doggedly resist reasonable guns laws regarding individual ownership are not defending the 2A. They are politically prostituting themselves for corporate gun money and votes in exchange for human lives while using the 2A as their shameless cover. #2ndAmendment
