Here we go :) #DEFCON27
This year's badge. (Not the slightest idea of how it works.)
Ok so, like last year, different categories of people have badges of different colors that can communicate. And this is how us journos (green badges, rare species) have lots of people coming to us 😄
Uh, looks like those have to be paired in a certain sequence (not sure though). I'm looking for a yellow badge right now 😎
A good reminder in the @CryptoVillage 😎
Beaucoup de monde - et de machines - au @VotingVillageDC, même Ron Wyden (sénateur démocrate de l'Oregon) a fait le déplacement
"We'll never get policies right if policy makers get the tech wrong", says @schneierblog #DEFCON27
"We need more public interest technologists. (...) This pervasive myth in Silicon Valley that tech is politically neutral --it's not."
"Everything we do has a moral dimension and we need to engage in that. (...) We have a surprising amount of power." @schneierblog @ #DEFCON27
Interesting discussion on "Ethical Issues in Cyber Attribution" right now (led by @MalwareJake) in the @EthicsVillage
The discussion w/ the attendees was based on scenarios. What if attributing a serious attack (w/ no casualties) will lead to an armed conflict? What if attribution will lead to sanctions that will impact your countrie's businesses?
The whole point of the talk as described by @MalwareJake: "Do you want to get involved in CTI [cyber threat intel] in the first place? Because your work will definitely impact people's lives."
#DEFCON27 - This is what happens in the @VotingVillageDC ^^
Another reminder from the @CryptoVillage
