It’s been a year since we won a competitive Democratic primary in Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District. During that election, we doubled the 2010 gubernatorial midterm turnout. 1/5
We received almost 50% of the primary vote and had 170 precincts where we outperformed all other candidates. 2/5
We won because of a smart plan crafted led by @joellestangler, because of the organizing support from countless progressive organizations and labor unions and because of the volunteers, grassroots donors, and people powered campaign we ran. 3/5
Our organizing work hasn’t stopped. We had hundreds of thousands of conversations, knocked on tens of thousands of apartment doors, and were the top national vote receiver for non-incumbent members of Congress. 4/5
This summer we are organizing, we are texting, and we are working to ensure we continue to grow. Thank you to CD5 for the opportunity to serve! We won't stop organizing. 5/5
