How weird is this.
Years ago, just before all this sh*t, I was flying to Idaho. These flights to the mountains are always friendly and full of interesting people, because you are flying to paradise, and I was seated next to a lovely, interesting, eccentric woman. She had just...
...finished a novel, set in Idaho's nuclear country in the '50s, so she gave it to me because she thought I would like it. Said to give it to someone else when I finished it.
I started it and I really liked it but then there was some catastrophe I had to deal with and I stopped.
A few months later I downloaded it on my kindle because I don't have space to carry books when I travel. Over the next few years, I kept restarting the book, getting distracted for months, starting again.
I started it again on my last flight back from the mountains.
It's rainy & miserable outside, so I figured I would curl up & read. I opened the book on my phone, then was like "oh yeah I have an actual book!" So checked the page & went to get it.
There was an airline drink napkin marking the page I stopped on, which is the exact same page.
I guess I am supposed to finish this book.
