1. Transmitting or receiving illegal pornography is a felony.

It's an incredibly rare case where a mere *data* *transmission* carries probable cause.

2. *Never* get into a *child*-*rape* conspiracy documented to such an excruciating degree.

@ericgarland @soychicka Everyone on those videos from the last five years already knows they have to flip.

Whether Epstein committed suicide "if you know what's good for you" with or without help, or was otherwise silenced, it's *very* persuasive to everyone.

All the evidence they've already gathered, all the confessions rolling in, all the lawsuits as of 3 days ago against various perpetrators?

If anything, there's a couple guys trying to make sure they don't leave rolled up in one.

What if you have no evidence or testimony to proffer that law enforcement needs?

A fully cooperating witness has to describe every crime they were not only party to, but every crime they were ever *aware* of, in their life.

@ericgarland @soychicka One thing to keep an eye on is what I like to call "contagion."

So many of these ecosystems - DC, LA, NY - conspiracies & criminal operations are small and tightly interconnected.

With evidence on *everybody,* tipping points hit when *everyone* knows they should proffer.

So what's so deadly here?

A huge, decades-long conspiracy to "rape all our kids" going on in plain sight, with extensive video & audio evidence of the rapes?

Or because you "misunderstood a clause in the contract."

Or you "had no idea that guy was foreign intel!"

Nope, you're on video from the child-rape/blackmail factory.

Nope, hard evidence by the truck load.

Given how few of these guys would survive a decade or two in Rikers, almost anything will improve their situation.

And then there's the reason I brought up illegal pornography...

While he presumably made plenty on site, what are the odds that he either acquired or distributed it as well?

@ericgarland @soychicka They've taken down two huge sites for that kind of pornography, and appear to have plenty of evidence to trace the assorted users.

So if you're trying to prove conspiracy, on top of the videos w/audio, 1,000,000+ pages, money laundering & financial crimes, you have this as well.

@ericgarland @soychicka Other than the above, and a bunch of other things I didn't mention like the unlimited search capacity of Grover's algorithm to sift through these evidence archives using even basic quantum computing, etc...

I'm not at all upset by these guys getting legitimate, highly skilled defense lawyers.

This is so overwhelming any sane attorney will want their client to be the first to plead out, if they're anywhere this side of Caligula.

@ericgarland @soychicka And no legal team with a fiduciary duty to an organization can handwave any immense crimes, as *everything* starts to surface.

Corporate in-house lawyers will likely be among the first to turn.

People in desperate need of someone to inform on to protect themselves, and a huge set of self-evident crimes.

People, he's already gone to prison.

Events are moving faster than many would like to pretend.

So there's a level child abuse that escalates straight into child rape with this illegal pornography.

On the other hand, it all carries probable cause, and the @FBI knew and has been shutting it down since Sept, 2017.

@ericgarland @soychicka @FBI So not only are these illegal-pornography networks easily tracked down & mapped out, they're leading directly to more child abusers, & in particular to more child rapists.

Being involved in a criminal conspiracy - say, involving illegal pornography - helpfully extends statutes.

@ericgarland @soychicka @FBI I think it's escaped people that these videos of kids getting raped... Means there's a direct victim.

And a *rapist.* On *video.*

And anyone selling it is profiting from it, and likely tied to it.

In some form of criminal conspiracy.

@ericgarland @soychicka @FBI So tracking back these networks & annihilating them means taking out the people who support these terrible things financially.

But it also means tracking a lot of this material back to the *rapists.*

Now consider the scale of this, & how many operations have already gone down.
