The FBI raided City Hall offices in La Joya, Texas on Friday, Aug 16.
FBI confirmed only that they were "conducting law enforcement activities" and the City Administrator confirmed that FBI had a search warrant.
No one was arrested....YET.

Former La Joya City Attorney Robert Jackson (who also resigned in 2017, though I can't find why) "speculated" that FBI is looking into misuse of public funds. Jackson has also accused the current admin of corruption.

The Mayor of La Joya, Jose Salinas, mentioned that he knew that Mike Alaniz, a former city administrator, had spoken to the FBI. Alainz just "retired" in June, and his own attorney confirmed that he was a focus of an investigation.
The Vice Chairwoman of the La Joya Housing Authoritym Sylvia Garces-Valdez, was arrested and charged with bribing another city official in exchange for a public relations position.
