These are very valid questions Naveen. I shall answer them from the best of my knowledge.

1. One of the primary reasons for publishing these interviews is to look for stories about financial behaviour.

@blnaveen @d91labs @sreeparna_c @praymurray 2/n

What, why and how does one make financial decisions in their life and how are they associated with their aspirations.

2. Why is this needed? The current access to data about people who could potentially be impacted by technology is limited.

They are either in the form of analysis as reports (very few good ones are public and free) or they are in the form of quantitative data as in surveys.

- I was wondering, if there could be something in between that can go deeper in understanding people’s behaviour.

A strong proof that would allow product manager, CEO, marketers to take key decisions in their in daily job.

- I don’t claim that we are the first ones to do this. But the ones who do it don’t publish them online

@blnaveen @d91labs @sreeparna_c @praymurray 5/n

Many early-stage startups lack access to these and do not have enough resources to conduct them on their own.

- This is also a way for me to explore and communicate others impact of design could be more than UI and UX.

Regarding consent:
- This initiative has me working full time and a bunch of design interns trying to pull this off. So to clarify, this mostly the work of just a bunch of folks.

@blnaveen @d91labs @sreeparna_c @praymurray 7/n

- I have been very keen on not publishing the real names or photographs and ask permission before recording and inform the participants about the publishing.

@blnaveen @d91labs @sreeparna_c @praymurray 8/n

- Till now we have published just 8 stories and all of them were the ones we knew close enough as either first or second-degree connections. So it's a first-degree of trust.

@blnaveen @d91labs @sreeparna_c @praymurray 9/n

- The idea behind partnering with other organisations is to build on their trust. For example, Buzzindia foundation organises free financial literacy classes for rural women that have changed their lives in a significant way and thats the primary reason for these women to

@blnaveen @d91labs @sreeparna_c @praymurray 10/n

agree to talk to us under this format

- It was heartwarming Naveen, to see these women talk about their daily challenges and ask us back as to how we could help them overcome their situation and I personally feel their stories need to be reached to the tech innovators.

@blnaveen @d91labs @sreeparna_c @praymurray 11/n

But yes, could be done in a better way

Regarding ethics review:

- Precautions are taken at the best of my knowledge to not give out identity except location. But you are right, this could be more efficient.

@blnaveen @d91labs @sreeparna_c @praymurray 12/n

Since I haven’t seen such format of publishing before, it didn't occur to me that a ethics framework could exist. I did write a bunch of ethical principles in my framework, but I'm surely not doing a great job.

@blnaveen @d91labs @sreeparna_c @praymurray I'm open to discussing more on this in detail to draft a full-fledged ethics practice for D91 Labs.

Regarding Collaboration: -

You are one of the highly respected people that I look up to. Have a great admiration towards what you have built at Shrishti.

@blnaveen @d91labs @sreeparna_c @praymurray 14/n

- Have been envying the graduates that I met recently. - In fact, when we started d91labs, you are the first one we reached out to for collaboration, but we, unfortunately, couldn’t get a reply.

@blnaveen @d91labs @sreeparna_c @praymurray 15/n

- Given that we have known each other, a DM from you regarding this would have been treated with the same priority of answering this on a public forum.

@blnaveen @d91labs @sreeparna_c @praymurray 16/n

- We have a bunch of more interviews to publish, but we are happy to halt them and talk to you to understand better as what would be the right way to do it. Let me know the best way to reach out to you :)

Looking forward.
