#AmKenyan 1. We have systems in Kenya. Though weak and easily compromised, as law abiding citizens we must test them and demand for improvements. Our leadership continues to abuse power and ignore our constitution. This is what we have been dealing with this week.
A THREAD:

#AmKenyan 2. Last Saturday, while attending a family event in Muranga, I received a frantic call from @atty_kim asking where I was because she had received a threatening phone call from @MikeSonko about a post she had copy-pasted on our FB page Buyer Beware.

#AmKenyan 3. The post alleged there was corruption happening at City Hall. Atty declined to bring the post down. What followed were more threatening calls to the other admin @JacksonNjeru254 and a sustained online campaign to troll us using several pseudo accounts

#AmKenyan 4. On Sunday the trolling and threats escalated. Over 20 accounts were added by a member on the Buyer Beware group with the sole purpose to attack anyone discussing corruption allegations at City Hall. We identified the accounts and removed them.

#AmKenyan 5. The accounts then generated defamatory posts against us. We were slut and body shamed. Something we have seen before from Sonko when he has issues with others, especially women. I have attached an example of one that was done about me.

#AmKenyan 6. We then decided to make an official report at @DCI_Kenya on Monday. We were to meet with Atty and go to Kiambu road together. At about 11 am, @bonifacemwangi called me and asked if I had spoken to Atty and that there were strange men in her house.

#AmKenyan 7. I called Atty and she informed me some men claiming to be @NPSOfficial_KE from Buruburu were trying to arrest her. They had no warrant and did not inform her of the reason she was being arrested. Atty made the wise decision to do a live feed of the arrest.

#AmKenyan 8. For several hours we tried to get the police to tell us what she was arrested for. We left at 9.30pm not knowing what was in the charge sheet. We found out the charge "Causing disturbance at a police station" when it was read out in court.

#AmKenyan 9. This ridiculous charge proved to us that the @NPSOfficial_KE were being used to intimidate and silence Atty. They did not tell us why they had picked her from her house in the first place. One officer even pulled a gun on her saying "Leo nitauwa mtu".

#AmKenyan 10. @DCI_Kenya @ODPP_KE @EACCKenya @IPOA_KE The threats and online attacks are continuing. We were adviced to do a written complaint by @DCI_Kenya which we are working on with our lawyers. This disregard for due process and abuse of power must be investigated.

#AmKenyan 11. Media coverage of this has been one sided to favour Sonko. Not surprising as he has the resources to push his narrative. Other than @citizentvkenya who reported FACTS, the rest, led by @ntvkenya continue to report lies without contacting Atty for a right of reply.

#AmKenyan 12. We refuse to be bullied. Reports of THEFT exist. The @OAG_Kenya has done 2 reports, 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 alleging BILLIONS are unaccounted for. This is what Sonko does not want the public to discuss. @EACCKenya has this information too.
