Kelly is a male transgender rugby player in the women's team. Coach Wayne Mansell says "Straight away we just saw there was a load of ability there" . /1 bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-un…
Brian Minty who founded the Porth Ladies' team said
"She's going to be a good, good player for the next few years, as long as we can stop her injuring players in training". /2
Club captain Jessica Minty-Madley said "She folded a girl like a deckchair during a game". But surprisingly despite Kelly's broad shoulders and standing over 6ft tall Captain Jessica says "Any advantage Kelly gets comes from how hard she trains." /3
And it is not just players that have felt her force, as her own coach Wayne Mansell recalls: "She's put me in hospital, I won't lie about that. She's given me a fracture in my ankle during a game of touch." /4
Even male-born trans player Kelly knows deep down its not fair or safe. Kelly said "I do feel guilty, but what can you do? I don't go out to hurt anybody. I just want to play rugby at the end of the day." /5
