1.People talk about the "Big Lie" a lot. Yet, it's hard to see it in action unless you look closely. For instance, one of the Big Lies that has been told for the last 3 years is the comparison of Trump's first 3 yrs with Obama's last 3 yrs. People don't see the slight of hand.
2. There is a tremendous difference between a POTUS results from his first years in office to his last. The first years are when his policies are just starting to bite. The last year's are when all of his "hard" work bears fruit. There is some overhang in the first years compared
3...to the last year's on policies from previous administrations. Comparing a President's first years to his last is NOT an apples to apples comparison. Time frames matter. They matter a great deal. Yet, the fake media wants you to forget all that. They want you to measure....
4...the final product against the first draft. This is a Big lie. They do this for several reasons. They want to present Obama's policies at their "best" and Trump's at his "worst". They want to have you forget the nightmare of Obama's first years. They want to ignore outside...
5...forces and make you think from a skewed reality. There are other reasons but those are the big ones.
So let's compare apples to apples (from day after election to Aug 23rd unless otherwise noted)
On unemployment: Obama increased unemployment from 6.8 to 9.0,
6. .....Trump decreased it from 4.7 to 3.7.
On the stock market: Obama had a 22% increase from 9139.27 to 11178.77, Trump had a 38% increase from 18,614.62 to 25,628.90
On midterm elections: Obama had the biggest lost since 1938 losing 63 house seats and 6 Senate seats,
7. ...Trump lost 41 house seats but gained 2 Senate seats.
On GDP: obama had GDP of -2.5%( 2009), +2.6%(2010), avg 0.85%(first two qrts of 2011), Trump had +2.4%(2017), +2.9%(2018), avg of +2.6%(first two qrts of 2019)
8. On Congressional control: both President's had their party control the house for first two years. Obama had a filibuster proof majority in Senate in 2009 and only needed 1 vote in 2010 to overcome a filibuster. Trump needed 8 votes in 2017 & 9 in 2018 to overcome a filibuster.
9. On deficit spending: Obama increased the deficits from 2008 ($459B) to 2009($1.413T) by $1.046 trillion. In 2010 he reduced it by $119B (total $1.294T) but in 2011 he increased it by $6 billion ($1.300T). Trump increased the deficit from 2016($585B) to 2017($665B) by $80B....
10. .....in 2018 he increased it by $114B(total $779B) and in 2019 its estimated that it will increase by $312B(total $1.091T)
On debt: Obama increase the debt from 2009-2011 by $3.63 Trillion. Trump has increased debt from 2017-2019 by $2.535 Trillion.
11. On major laws passed: Obama passed Obamacare and Stimulus. Trump passed tax cuts/jobs act and Justice reform. Both passed several lesser laws.
On regulations: Obama increased them, Trump cut them
I could go on but I think those comparisons give you the general idea.
12. This is why the fake media/Dems push the Big Lie and want to compare Obama's last years with Trump's first. On issue after issue(except laws passed(tie) but he had a filibuster proof Senate). It's clear that Trump is outperforming Obama so far in their respective time frames
13. Now some will say but Obama had a recession to deal with. The recession officially ended in June of 2009. In other words, Obama was in essence starting from the bottom. He was given a head start so to speak. The recovery years right after a recession are usually the best yrs.
14. If anything, Obama's numbers should have been great in the last 6 months of 2009, 2010, & most of 2011. Instead they were lackluster at best. Unemployment increased, the deficit stayed high, he added an additional $3.73 T in debt, his GDP was basically flat, no growth (08-11)
15. On the other hand, Trump came in at the tail end of an expansion. His numbers should have been less as growth slowed. Instead, they were great. Unemployment decreased, the deficit hardly changed in his first year and has only increase by $500 billion over his three years(est)
16......compared to Obama's increase of +$1 trillion. Trump added $1Trillion less to the debt compared to Obama. His GDP numbers are almost triple obama's. Stock market gains have almost doubled under Trump compared to Obama.
17. This is why they sprout the Big Lie & try to compare Obama's final yrs with Trump's first. On pretty much every level including midterms Trump is better than Obama
One can't help but see Obama as a total failure when apples to apples comparisons are made.
So, Big Lie time.
18. One important detail I missed. Obama had zero % interest rates and QE. Trump had a FED that increased rates 8 times and did QT.
Annnnnnnnnd Trump still smoked Obama's numbers.
If only we had a real media to report these things..
