What I learned from Witch Doctors.
I embarked on a journey to understand healing from as many perspectives as possible because helping the sick has always been one of my passions. I guess it aligns with the healer side of me, my feminine anima. ( Clotaire Rapaille).
My first trip two years ago was to visit Sir Pete Edochie, the accomplished raconteur. We spent a day discussing his dedication to Nollywood and his relationship with witch doctors.
Then I dedicated some months to studying videos of witch doctors in Nigeria / Africa. I wanted to find out if they had power, how powerful they are and the source of their power.
Interestingly, these witch doctors understand the principles of faith and beliefs than we do. They operate like psychologists who never initiate a healing process without faith. For example, they wouldn't start healing a patient unless the patient proved he wanted to be cured.
Witch Doctors ensure that patients are in the best frame of mind before embarking on a healing process. They are aware that they can't help you succeed without your permission. Their results depend on your faith.
African magic movies also project the same narrative. Voodoos work as long as you believe it will. It's not a battle of power. It's a battle of faith.
Your mind is the battlefield.
