So, in the hubbub of the last couple weeks, my Twitter account passed a milestone which shouldn’t slip by unremarked upon.
I passed 200,000 followers last week.
It’s hard to convey how humbling that is.

I joined Twitter after the election at the prompting of my friend @Justitia2018.
To be honest, it had more to do with being supportive to a friend organizing an anti-Trump Twitter circle than a personal desire to join Twitter.

Inexplicably, I acquired an early audience. It was daunting and surreal.
I’m a guy on a sofa. I was a guy on a sofa then. I’m a guy on a sofa now. These are my thoughts. Nothing more.
Having an audience was *a lot*.

So, I reached out to @Kris_Sacrebleu and asked for advice.
She said: “Be yourself. Don’t change.”
And so I have. For better or worse, I have. I’ve been unfiltered... uninfluenced by what might be popular or unpopular.
It was good advice. I’m happy for having taken it.

This is a surreal perch. I wish I could explain it.
I’m an ordinary joe. A person you’d pass on the street without a thought.
Yet, when I posted a picture last week, it was seen 1.2 million times.
That’s... a lot.
So, anyway, here we are.

I just wanted to thank you all for being here. I am humbled by your support, bolstered by your kindness, and gratified to be part of your community.
These days will pass. We will find ourselves in better times.
Until then though, I couldn’t ask for better company.
