Every little bit that contributes in making our environment greener & cleaner is a big leap we take towards making a #SwachhBharat. Discouraging the use or reuse of plastic in one such best practice we should adopt in our everyday lives.

I feel extremely delighted that these best practices have reached all corners of our country, even our beautiful island UTs. The Port Blair Municipal Council encourages the reuse of plastic PET bottles & plastic oil cans for plantation.

Such unique & creative practices have encouraged the municipal bodies to take a step forward in reducing & reusing PET bottle & can wastes. This has also brought about a behavioural change among the general public.

This initiative has been adopted at various government establishments & public places. This has not only enhanced the aesthetic view of the place but also encouraged the citizens to use it for plantation at their own houses.

The practice has enhanced the beauty of the Raj Niwas gardens, the gardens of Dept of Agriculture in Sippighat, & other such places.
