😀👋Welcome to day 18 #30days30waysUK @30Days30WaysUK where we’re talking how #RespectTheWater makes a lot of sense for personal #safety and #preparedness .... should the unexpected occur 😉

Today we are delighted and proud to be joined by many partners including the @RNLI to explore all kinds of top tips around #WaterSafety #DrowningPrevention and how to #RespectTheWater.
🔉Let's start with their #FloatToLive video:

When you fall into water below 15C, the body's automatic response is to gasp for air because of cold water shock. This increases your chance of inhaling water. Instead, you need to relax and #FloatToLive for around 90 seconds to minimise this risk. #30days30waysUK

If you find yourself in the water #FloatToLive
If you see someone else in difficulty call 999 and ask for the coastguard.
NEVER ENTER THE WATER, use a buoy or throw line if you know how to do so safely. Leave water rescue to the professionals.
