They say give honour to whom honour is due, today in commemoration of the World Teachers Day, the House salutes Mrs. Agnes Elusakin, a teacher from Government Senior College in Ikorodu who emerged the winner of 2019 best teacher Presidential Excellence Award.
In recognition of her achievement, the House invited her to the floor of the green chamber for a rousing ovation.
Rep. @IamJimiBenson had moved the motion on the plight of teachers worldwide who are expected to give their best despite being given so little in benefits and working motivation and it was seconded by Rep. Mohammed Gololo.
Rep. @aadoguwa in his contribution commended the House for such a noble gesture as it would go a long way to encourage such achievers to do more.
Rep. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha expressed pride that a woman is achieving such a feat
The Speaker of @HouseNGR , Rt. Rep. @femigbaja praised teachers through the winners for their commitment and dedication to duty.
He assured them that the House would do what it takes to enhance the appropriations that go into education in the budgeting process.
