Very brief thread:
1. Was on Danish @tv2newsdk yesterday with @TroelsMylenberg as Copenhagen hosted the #C40Summit and @antonioguterres and Danish PM @MettePrime spoke to the press. @c40cities

Here's what I can remember saying:

2. Since the international track is effectively stymied by the US (and other fossil-lobby captured states) city-level is limited but increasingly important.

Half the world lives in cities (set to rise to 70% by 2050) and 70% of energy consumed is consumed in cities.

3. Danish PM @MettePrime pointed out she is a Social Democrat first - green second. @antonioguterres agreed a #JustTransition is crucial.
I agreed: tactically climate needs broad appeal. Substantively you can't transform world without making a gazillion political prioritizations

4. #Copenhagen with its bikes, green energy and clean water is a great venue for cities leading climate transition processes. Although, like all cities with wealthy people in it, it consumes and emits much more than its fair share. Over-reliance on biomass can't be replicated.

5. The #C40summit won't go down in history as a breakthrough moment, but may be remembered as a staging post on a longer journey, where the climate-agenda continues to broaden from just energy sector decarbonization to full societal transition (food, buildings etc.).
