A thread. #TeenageSuicides, My gardeners 16 yr old niece passed on after taking poison. Apparently her Mum shouted at her the day before. So she took the poison, packed it in her school bag and left for school. She then drank it at school in the toilet and was found still alive.
#TeenageSuicides, they rushed her to the nearest clinic and then to hospital, and the nurses managed to rescusitate her. But nothing that further that could be done because there were no doctors. And even if they were, the hospital was ill equipped. So she died as a result.
#TeenageSuicides. This made me think a lot of things. Why are teens resorting to suicide. This is our future generation that is failing to cope with the Zim situation. Things are not right and they can see it. They see their parents suffer & wonder if things will ever be ok
#TeenageSuicides is the pressure to perform so high, are we (parents) taking out our frustrations on our kids (not willingly or even consciously). Or are kids more sensitive these days. Is it tv programmes that subliminally influences them to commit suicide. Why is this happening
#TeenageSuicides, do we take kids seriously when they say they're "stressed"/feeling sad/feeling "low". Or do we say kwana (get real), or ah uchiri mwana mudiki (you're young) what can be stressing you. How involved are we in their lives, over involved &controlling or not at all
#TeenageSuicides, do we know if our kids are being bullied, are they on drugs or addicted to alcohol. Can they talk openly with us. Why are kids taking their lives. 💔💔💔 How can we help. But Zim is such that even us the "adults" are failing to can (cope). We are broken 😭
