Flash/Flex/applets were "flings" of the web
Didn't realize wasm files can have their compiled state cached and reused. I think that's also a benefit of cached JS via service workers.
#perfnow noob question: when wasm code is running, is that off-main thread, similar to a worker?
Wasm offers consistently fast performance regardless of browser.
