The @NRA has an extremist and wrong interpretation of the Second Amendment that makes all other rights subordinate to it. They’re pushing the Supreme Court to take that further, using the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. City of New York case to do so.
We submitted an amicus brief to the Supreme Court that shares 9 personal stories from young people who represent #GenerationLockdown, where gun violence and mass shootings are the new normal. Here’s what they said:
We have a right not to get shot. We ask that the Court NOT take away our right to affect change through our advocacy and participation in political processes. We are tired of being afraid. We are tired of burying our friends. We just want to live.
