Just got home from helping with coverage of #GeneralElection2019 and honestly I don't know how to feel... I'm currently between sick and angry (or some mixture of the two).
Apart from f-ing Brexit, which the conservatives will try to do with no deal messing up this country even more, I see no AND I TRULY MEAN NO reason why the Tories could possibly win such a majority.
We have already had 9 years where nearly every subset of people have been negatively affected... And now we're giving them, led by a noted racist bigot, practically unchecked power for 5 years...
My home country is becoming something I don't recognise and is turning away from the rest of the world, and seemingly kindness in general and I'm scared.
Not necessarily for just me but for every immigrant, refugee, working class person, student, teacher, doctor, nurse, and anyone who may need medical attention at some point in their lives (so EVERYONE IN THE ENTIRE UK), but just because I'm scared doesn't mean I'll be silent.
Neither should any person who believes in a common good beyond the scope this current brood of Tories has shown. Keep standing up for yourselves and others. Fight for good, and call out the bad.
It's going to be bloody tough but we can show the country, our country, is far better then what the Tories may represent.
