My #FPL Captaincy thoughts for #GW21
As I use to do nowadays, I will share my spreadsheet's captaincy insights. But first I will take a look at how the spreadsheet did last week:
GW20:
Salah 66.23% ❌
Mané 65.70% 🎯
Vardy 65.27% DNS
KDB 58.44% 🎯
(From my Patreon article)
This week things has turned around quite a bit.
Vardy: 67.42
KDB: 65.93
Mané: 63.96
Salah: 60.45
KDB and Vardy's form vs respective opponents gives them a small edge. Salah and Mané blanked vs Sheffield U last time and have not played them in recent years which hurts their rank
KDB:
In his no 10 role he has looked tremendous. Versus Sheffield U he played deeper than his favored 10 role, which is a worrying sign. None the less he managed to be the difference maker and get two returns. I like the fact that Aguero is back as well for KDB's assists.
Vardy:
Versus Newcastle and similar opponents Vardy rarely assists. Leicester should beat a tired Newcastle comfortably and I expect Vardy to score one goal. His only blanks in away games has come against Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool.
Mané:
For me Mané has looked more like an assister lately. Salah is playing central forward where he scored the most last season. Mané has only blanked in two home starts this season so in my eyes he's the safe option. But I'm not in love with the match up vs Sheffield U.
Salah:
Just because he's the bottom pick out of these four in terms of the spreadsheet's ranking, doesn't mean that I'm not strongly considering him. I have a hard time seeing him blank three games in a row. But just like with Mané I'm not in love with the match up.
It's a very hard decision for me. KDB is the only one of these players that have a points per 90min over 8 points.
Average points when I have captained them in the past this season:
Vardy: 18
Mané: 15
Salah: 12
De Bruyne: 4.5
