As Hazard departed for Real Madrid, Pulisic was called upon and debuted for 32 minutes in a crushing 4-0 defeat to Manchester United on the opening day.
From a statistical point of view, it was a quiet start for Christian Pulisic ๐Ÿคซ

๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ H.Kane

We all know what Kane is about! He's an out and out goalscorer! 5 goals from his last 3 matches ended what has been a disappointing season for the Spurs man on a high! Sure he'll be looking to kick on and go after that prestigious golden boot next season!

๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ K.Tierney

A disappointing, injury stricken first season at ARS ended on a high for the Scot! Goal and an assist against WAT on the final day plus an impressive display against CHE in the FA Cup final. Fancy Tierney to be owned by a lot more than 1.1% next season

A look at Chelsea's shiny new striker: Timo Werner.

"That is the big reason why they bought me, to bring the goals"

The below ratings are benchmarked to the PL.

As can be seen - his attacking output + ball retention are his core strengths. He'll bring the goals alright!

โ€˜We talked a lot about things like system, like how he wants to play and sees me playing"

One thing, that surely Frank would aim to improve would be Werner's aerial prowess.

As per @TMuk_news - TW has 12 headed goals in Bundesliga across 7 seasons!

The Review: GW 37+ - A thread

Hi everyone, welcome to The Review. Chasing a mini league lead or looking to gain ground on your rival? I present to you the final review of the season with a particular focus on free hit and differentials:

#FPL #FPLCommunity @OfficialFPL
1) โ€œShould I ditch Man United assets on Free Hit?โ€ United were creating โˆผ3.20 big chances per game post restart but that figure has now dropped to โˆผ2.33 big chances per game over the past three GWโ€™s. The eye test suggests that the United attackers look leggy, which is...
...probably down to fatigue kicking in with United having played a lot of games in succession. Bruno Fernandes I think is the most expendable, having registered just two shots in the box over the past three GWโ€™s. Mason Greenwood could be a good enabler at ยฃ4.8m, but...

The TAA Fallacy ๐Ÿง

โ€œEven at ยฃ7.5m+, TAA will definitely be in my team next year, because he out-scores all MIDs/FWDs of the same priceโ€.

Read on for my OPINION on why this is an example of fallacious (faulty) reasoning ๐Ÿ˜ฌโŒ

#FPL #FPLCommunity Image
1) I want to start by stating the obvious: TAA is one of the best FPL assets we have ever been graced with, and he will continue to be so next year. This thread is merely aimed at discussing the fallacious reasoning for why TAA will โ€˜definitelyโ€™ be in peopleโ€™s teams next year. Image
2) Instead of claiming that TAA is worth having because he outscores ยฃ7.5m mids/fwds, the discussion instead should be, โ€œwhich duo will score more points?โ€

TAA + ยฃ5.0m MID/FWD

Regression to the mean. A very long #FPL {THREAD}

After seeing the skill/luck debate I felt it would be fitting to share what I've learned from the book โ€œThinking Fast and Slowโ€ by Daniel Kahnemann.

The concept can be applied to examine players but also our own results.
The book is about biases that cloud our reasoning and distort our perception of reality. It turns out there is a whole set of logical errors that we commit because our intuition and brain do not deal well with simple statistics.
The term โ€˜regression to the meanโ€™ refers to the idea that things tend to even out over time, or at least gravitate in the direction of an even split. The concept can be applied in business, psychology, genetics and even to glean new insights from common FPL trends.

Hopefully you enjoy, all follows and RTs would be massively appreciated as a new FPL account!

๐Ÿงค The Keeper Selection ๐Ÿงค

Pope (5.1m) v Martinez (4.3m)
At this point it seems the two main options in goal for GW38+ are Martinez (4.4m) and Pope (5.1m)

Martinez is a lot cheaper but statistically heโ€™s still a very viable option. 4.3 points per game compared to 4.6 for Pope represents good value considering Ederson's average is 3.6

Firstly, Unitedโ€™s Argentinian coach, Marcelo Bielsa, has tended to keep the faith in a winning team, with injured or suspended players often having to be patient for a chance to get back into the 4-1-4-1 line-up. This means any assets can be relied upon to start consistently.
Bielsa has always put his faith in his heavy possession-based process. Leeds are set up to counter attack down the wings with overlapping full-backs. They are very hard to break down as you would expect from a Bielsa team, with organisation one of their key strengths.

The Review: GW 36+ - A thread

Hi everyone, welcome to The Review. Here I bring some clarity to your transfer thoughts heading into the business end of the season as we approach GW37+:

#FPL #FPLCommunity @OfficialFPL

(Data taken from @FFScout and @FFH_HQ with consent)
1) I think by now itโ€™s fairly obvious that Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are the ones to have from Man United. Their defence has done reasonably, and so has Mason Greenwood here and there but it has been this trio which has brought about the perfect mix...
... of consistency and explosiveness. Man United have had 22 big chances post the restart โ€“ averaging over three a game. Rashford has been involved in โˆผ55% of them, Martial in โˆผ41% and Fernandes in โˆผ36%. Greenwood has been involved in less than 5% of these big chances yet...

At the start of the season he favoured a 4-4-2 formation. By about GW5 he had changed to prefer a 3-4-3. Then changed again to a 3-5-2 on his Restart Wildcard.

He has always chosen to spend the minimum on his bench.

๐Ÿ”ตExtensive analysis and prediction of MCI lineups๐Ÿ”ต

In the following I venture into the inevitable failure of trying to predict Pep's wheel of rotation madness using patterns and logic (lol).

Likes and RT's are much appreciate.

#FPL #FPLCommunity
Pep have lined up in 4-3-3 six times and 4-2-3-1 two times since restart. I've divided the players into Mids and Forwards based on their position in these systems, where the 10-position is a Mid as only Dilva and KDb played it.

Only Bilva played in both lines.
When examining the midfield setup, Pep prefers to play one holding mid (Gรผndo/Rodri/Fernandinho) and two attacking mids (Dilva/Bilva/KDB) - this was deployed in 5/8 games. In two of the remaining games, a mid of KDB and two holding mids were played.

The Review: GW 35+ - A thread

Hi everyone, welcome to The Review. Having a tough time deciding what transfers to make? Here I cast my eyes on FPL events, past and future, heading into GW36+:

#FPL #FPLCommunity @OfficialFPL

(Data taken from @FFScout and @FFH_HQ with consent)
1) I start with the unlucky Mohamed Salah this week. Salah recorded as many big chances as Sterling (two each) and in fact, fared better for shots in the box (four vs three) and minutes per expected goal involvement (66 vs 74). Yet, if you were a Salah captainer and a Sterling...
... non owner, the swing could have been as brutal as 40 points. The only thing standing between Salah and a Sterling-esque haul was Nick Pope, and a herculean-like performance from the Wall of Burnley ensured that it wasnโ€™t to be Salahโ€™s day...

The theory of skill acquisition and how it applies to FPL

A {Thread}

#FPL #FPLCommunity #FPLPsychology
The term expert is a bit of an ugly word in the FPL Community but exploring Professor Stuart Dreyfus' definition can help us think about its meaning in a different way than what I've traditionally seen on twitter.
Dreyfusโ€™ theory revolves around the thought that there are different phases in how we learn and ultimately become experts in an area. By knowing which phase we are in we can make more out of it and increase the speed in which we learn.

The Review: GW 34+ - A thread

Hi everyone, welcome to the latest edition of The Review. With GWโ€™s coming thick and fast, itโ€™s time to look back on the key numbers of GW34+ with a look ahead to GW35+:

#FPL #FPLCommunity

(Data taken from @FFScout and @FFH_HQ with permission)
1) I start with the flavors of the GW โ€“ Jamie Vardy and Danny Ings. I donโ€™t think Leicester were that fluent against Arsenal, but what matters is that Vardy is back amongst the goals again. He has already accumulated more big chances in the past two GW's than he did in the...
... previous nine GW's combined. He will now be up against a Bournemouth side who have conceded the highest number of goals post restart so has a rare combination of form and fixture on his side. I think the Spurs game was an aberration for Bournemouth, I donโ€™t think they will...

#FPL #FPLCommunity

(Data taken from @FFScout and @FFH_HQ with permission)
1) Mason Greenwood with two goals for Man United with a xG of โˆผ0.12 makes him the most overperforming player statistically this week. Is he a lethal finisher or a youngster brimming with confidence who will eventually run out of luck? Post restart, Greenwood has scored thrice...
... with a combined xG of โˆผ0.46 which reflects serious overperformance even for the most clinical of finishers. In isolation, I think that Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are the best United picks registering between them...

#FPL #FPLCommunity

(Raw data taken from @FFScout and @FFH_HQ with permission)
1) Man City have recorded the most big chances of all sides since the restart, and have an amazing fixture run on the horizon. For starters, they are up against a Southampton side who have conceded the highest amount of goals at home this season. This begs the question, who... the Man City asset to get this week? Iโ€™ve tried second guessing Pep Guardiola numerous times only to end up with an egg of my face virtually almost every time but here I go again. I scoured the City forums and the significant majority expect Riyad Mahrez to start...

If you are chasing mini leagues and need a few low owned players with good chance of delivering, I cannot recommend enough these 3 players - Richarlison, Matt Ritchie and Sarr.

Read on for more โฌ‡๏ธ

Stats referred from @FFH_HQ members area.
1. Richarlison(8.3m, 10.7%)

More than 157000 managers sold him in last 2 GWs and if you see the transfers in by GW history, I believe huge chunk of his 10.7% ownership is from inactive teams.
Under Ancelotti Everton are playing traditional 4-4-2 and causing defenses...
...all kinds of problems. Richarlison is playing up top with DCL and is in the box a
lot more than we have known him in past seasons. Him along with DCL caused problems to Liverpool defence
on several occasions and with Norwich up next, he has become an exciting prospect...

The Review : GW 16 - A thread

Greetings everyone, welcome to the latest edition of The Review. With the hectic festive schedule almost upon us, I hope that this summary of important takeaways is helpful for FPL managers in setting their team up for this crucial period: #FPL
1) Thereโ€™s only one place to begin. Jamie Vardy. The Leicester man has notched 13 times in his previous 10 PL games and remarkably seems to be replicating his 15/16 form. In that particular season, Vardy notched 13 times in 11 PL games between GW 4 and GW 14...
