Kaduna state government has released its 2020 budget.
Here are key highlights of its education sector allocation.

Total budgetary allocation to the education sector is N66.09bn with capital expenditure at 68% (45.15bn) and recurrent expenditure at 32% (N20.93bn). #EducationFund

There is a 43.7% increase in the 2020 capital expenditure component of the budget over that of 2019. This shows that the Kaduna State government is investing in its people and this is commendable. #EducationFund

The Ministry of Education takes the largest share of personnel cost, N6.57bn (47.3%) out of a total of N13.89bn #EducationFund

The overhead cost component has the Kaduna State scholarship board with the highest allocation of 4.72bn (67.1%) with the cost of scholarship constituting more than 90%. The Ministry of Education has N1.09bn and Kaduna State University (KASU) has N450m.

Top capital allocation to the sector has the Ministry of Education with N22.712bn (50.29%), the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) with N10.81bn and the College of Education, Gidan Waya with N1.02bn. #EducationFund.

The 2020 education budget maintains a 6 year trend of capital allocation exceeding that of recurrent expenditure. #EducationFund
