I didn’t love Hillary. She was flawed. But I so badly wanted to see a woman in the White House. I was devastated in 2016... because Hillary didn’t pick #Warren as her running mate. I truly thought that would have locked it all up.
I can’t explain why I loved #Warren back in #2016, but I just felt she was THE ONE.
When she announced her candidacy for 2020 I was overwhelmed with excitement.
She was going to do it! She would be THE ONE!
Then she gained and gained and gained in the polls. I saw it all coming together.
Then boom. The drop began and she never recovered. Maybe poli-sci experts can explain it.
All I remember is a lotta folks saying she won’t win bc OTHER folks wouldn’t elect a woman. So they voted for someone else. A man.
And nevertheless, she persisted.
Until she could persist no further.
