1) mommy stuck her hand in the pee-filled toilet, of course!
I ran downstairs to find gloves or a bag. I’m not sticking my hand in that fiasco - disgusting!
“You probably have pee on your hands every time you go to the bathroom,” she said.
Wtf does she think I do in there?

I accidentally dropped the kids’ toothpaste in the pee filled toilet - bc the 6yo didn’t flush and left the lid up.
1) who stuck their hand in the pee-filled toilet to fish it out without waiting for a bag or glove?
2) Who screamed “Oh no, I’m going to die!” after seeing the toothpaste in the pee-filled toilet?

So we decided to watch #Hamilton tonight. And since we can’t really go anywhere, we decided to have a full blown “night out.” #HappyHour and a small plate of #Apps. (1/x) #BlackTie is NOT optional.

I understand the situation is fluid.
I get that. I really do.
But the lack of communication by my district & union is pathetic.
Make. A. Decision.
This was the problem in March and April.
The waiting. And waiting. Make a damn plan, & adapt if you have to.
FOUR months!
T-minus 45 minutes...

My son’s school just announced the option of 100% virtual achool - for at least the 1st semester - and this is finally what I needed.
If the schools are proven safe by then, I’ll have him back in January with no real concerns. I also don’t want to commit to a full year virtual.
This to me makes the absolute most sense. We’re rushing some absurd artificial timeline.
Yes, this is when we NORMALLY go back to school.
But none of *THIS* is NORMAL.
Options can include: pushing back the start until mid-September or later; virtual for 1st Q.

Imagine being “the least racist person in the world,” and clamoring for the approval and the vote of white supremacists.
These headlines are deplorable. Can’t imagine the articles are anything less than hot trash.

Stop what you’re doing. Right now.
Take ten minutes to read this. Then sit with it and process it all for as long as it takes to understand. educationpost.org/if-you-really-…
Here’s a taste.
“That cop didn’t just learn how to snuff out George Floyd’s life in a police training or on the job. He spent a lifetime preparing for that moment with his parents and family, teachers, coaches, neighborhoods and churches.”

I assume the follow up tweet says something like, “actually, no one died, therefore it’s not a noose.”
Good quick thread below.
Also, may I add. It’s in Alabama. It’s not like this was in Connecticut or PA. It’s in the heart of the Deep South who has a... history, shall we say.
Congress can’t tell a state, county or city cop to “stop killing people or we’ll take your ass to jail.” But they can tell agencies: “If you don’t implement these reforms, we’ll defund your ass.”
This is how we have a univ. drinking age of 21, I believe! theroot.com/everything-you…
I’m just gonna thread some things here from the article that stand out to me.
My opinion is, all data should be public knowledge. That goes for schools too. You hide the data, you got something to hide.

My SS Ts were typically older white men at the end of their careers. I “learned” a lot about the places of battles and the number of casualties. That’s about it.
Time to unlearn. Relearn. Teach. #FillInGheGaps
And we’re off! I realize this isn’t EVERYONE, but if I had a nickel for every time I heard someone say the South was THE problem while absolving the North... smdh. Talk about enabling a problem.

Saturday morning cleaning jam session. 2-3 cycles later, I have an important announcement. 🚨 🚨 🚨
Let me be clear (Joe Biden voice).
Ne-Yo is a national treasure and he needs way more love.
I’m sorry I thought Ne-Yo only had 3-4 dope songs. I regret my choices. I know better now.

Question.
How many of these are collecting dust already on folks’ shelves?
I hope they’re being marked up and dog eared. I really, really do.
But I’m a cynic. I’ve come to believe a large portion of the public is content with the “ignorance is bliss” mentality.
Again, I HOPE I’m wrong and folks are devouring them.

Finally got a chance to dive in to learn deeper about redlining.
“Terrified by the 1917 Russian revolution, govt officials came to believe that communism could be defeated in the U.S. by getting as many white Americans as possible to become homeowners—the idea being that those who owned property would be invested in the capitalist system.”

If #DefundThePolice has you worried about “safety,” especially white folks, I suggest you learn the river parable.
Consider why cops have tanks and endless weapons while doctors worw garbage bags to treat Covid-19 patients.
