Up until today, here is how my commute looked:
- put on jacket
- put on backpack
- walk to the subway
- ride the subway
- walk to work
- arrive at wok
But, beginning tomorrow, here is what my commute will look like instead:
My new commute:
- put on jacket
- put on backpack
- walk to subway
- turn around and walk back the other way
- arrive at my brand new office (a.k.a. my desk in the living room)

(And yes, I see the typo in the first tweet. Oops.)
First day of my new commute!
Today's commute took twenty minutes. The weather was foggy with some birdsong and the occasional jogger.
Most people, when they crossed paths, moved to the edges of the sidewalk.

This afternoon's commute took longer than expected. Half a block from the "office," I ran into a couple of people I know. We spent a while standing on a street corner, with some distance between us, chatting and catching up.
It's sunny and warm out, but also hazy.

Today, both of my commutes were cold and drizzly. The sidewalks were nearly empty, stores were shuttered, and even the pigeons were practicing social distancing.
It turns out my current commute is quicker in bad weather than in good weather. Who would've guessed?

today, my commute home will be a half hour walk to the Target and the grocery store. I'll be leaving my computer at work this time so that I can carry things like milk home in my backpack. I wonder whether the computer will magically arrive home before I get there.
