Morrison's faith incorporates "prosperity gospel", so proper responses to this crisis crash against his belief that some people deserve help, others don't, according to their "worthiness". 2/6
When he was announcing the coronavirus payments for people who are losing work because of shutdowns, Morrison actually said that these will support people without income "through no fault of their own". 3/6
Implying, of course, that everyone else who is unemployed is at fault. Incredible glimpse into his repugnant mindset. I guess the unemployed are insufficiently pious. 4/6
Exhibit 3928 of this government's incomprehension of its job. #StuartRobert: "My bad, not realising the sheer scale of the decision on Sunday night by the national leaders. That literally saw hundreds and hundreds of thousands, maybe a million people, unemployed overnight." 5/6
It's extraordinary that a minister in the government wouldn't foresee the consequences for #Centrelink and for society as a whole of thousands of businesses closing down overnight.
