Much hand-wringing as to why #21daylockdown has not been perfect smooth sailing from the moment get-set-go? Several angles.
1) In democracies, in a non law-and-order driven lock down, human beings are unlikely to behave as robots who will all synchronize at flip of a switch. 1/5
2) India not alone in somewhat chaotic adjusting to an evolving situation of a scale unseen by almost anyone in present generation. Other democracies facing similar issues.
3) Day one of #21daylockdown was ALSO ABOUT SENDING MESSAGE TO ALL that this is serious business. 2/5
4) Police sometimes may have been ham handed on Day 01 of #21daylockdown. Could they have been more sophisticated? Maybe. But, POLICE ALSO HAD TO SEND MESSAGE IN REAL WORLD THAT defying lock down would have consequences.
5) Message sent, protocols would now be established. 3/5
6) Remember, THIS SITUATION is new for every one. No drills have prepared anyone #21daylockdown type situation. So everyone evolving / adjusting on the go.
7) By end of Day 01, we already see protocols/measures specific to local situation evolved by almost all local admin. 4/5
8) Where we live, local admin has contacted ALL RWAs to give their daily combined requirements and they would home deliver to ALL. Think about it. Such proactive measures.
