Just co-chaired the first #ZFish20 concurrent session at #TAGC20 @GeneticsGSA.
Short thread after the fact:
1) WE CAN DO THIS!
1/7
2) Great technical support with setting up, etc. from the assigned technicians.
No need to sweat, and it was great to see enthusiastic smiles and humor in the 10min before the session start!
2/7
3) Session chairs:
use a timer app and also coordinate through the panelist chat with your co-chairs and speakers.
It *MIGHT* happen that you forget to set your timer occasionally, so having backup is great!
3/7
4) Session chairs:
nice touch in Q&A is to state who asked the question! Adds a "face" to the question, especially now in an all-virtual setting
@snillum1 did this wonderfully in our #ZFish20 session (while I missed doing this in my part, my apologies).
4/7
5) Q&A chat: awesome!
Allows speakers to individually answer questions also after talks and to engage with individual attendees in more specific discussion.
A feature we should introduce to in-person meetings as well!

6) Speakers:
if you are notified that your voice is laggy, etc., try to mute and unmute yourself.
This occasionally remedies the audio issues.
Otherwise, kill your video to open bandwith. The techs can and will do this to support the session.
You can do this.

Overall, great experience and a model for how to hold virtual meetings in the future!
Thanks to the organizers and looking forward to the coming days and sessions.
("10/10, would #ZFish20 #TAGC20 again")
