Throughout my time as Governor and before that as Attorney General, I have found it extremely useful and productive to pull together Ohio citizens to look at the problem and help develop solutions to tough issues.

No matter what the problem is, there are citizens out there who know more about a particular problem. Most recently, I pulled together both a group of health advisors and medical experts.

We also formed a group of small, middle-size, and large businesses to come up with best practices for the opening of manufacturing, offices, and retail. Now that that is done, it is time for us to look at how we will reopen restaurants, barbershops, and salons.

I talked with the Speaker Householder, Senate President Obhof, House Minority Leader Sykes, and Senate Minority Leader Yuko to help identify people who work in these fields every day -- Ohioans who may not be part of a bigger chain, but may be barbers or local diner owners.

The legislative leaders and the relevant business associations are going to ask their members to come up with ideas for individuals to serve on this advisory group. They will be meeting virtually, but we intend to pull these groups together this week.

The goal of this group then is to develop recommendations for their businesses that balance the need to protect the health of employees and customers as they reopen to the public. #InThisTogetherOhio #ResponsibleRestartOhio
