Consensus from people close to the code seems to be there are some problems; users however haven't always seen them in testing.

Government meawhile downplaying the issues as you’d expect.

All said, getting it to function is just the first part. There’s also questions like user adoption and that includes people trusting the data use. There is a lot of mistrust out there.

In the less than totally short run, Apple and Google have a massive edge to get user adoption.
