According to @WorldBank estimates, #PWDs make up 15% of the Nigerian population. They represent one of the most vulnerable groups in our communities. That is why we have always emphasised that palliative measures and social safety interventions activated, especially
during #COVID_19 pandemic, must prioritise their welfare.
In April, @FMHDSD presented hygiene kits to the cluster of Persons with Disabilities #PWDs in Karmajiji community.
A #PWDs stakeholders’ meeting was held on April 23rd, 2020 at the auditorium of the Army Resource Centre in Abuja. The meeting provided a framework and modalities to mitigate challenges faced by PWDs, implement the federal government’s plans, as well as the Ministry’s roadmap..
for sustainable mitigation on all matters relating to PWDs. It focused, most especially, on how PWDs can benefit from the federal government’s intervention aimed at cushioning the effects of the #COVIDー19 pandemic and lockdown.
HM @Sadiya_farouq assured #PWDs all over the country that @FMHDSD shall be visiting their communities and clusters to provide them with #COVIDー19 palliatives.
