Sincere thanks to Hon'ble PM for his visionary relief measure announced today for developing Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHC) for migrant workers/ urban poor etc in the cities/ towns.

#AtmaNirbharBharatAbhiyaan #IndiaFightsCorona

Ministry @MoHUA_India will soon get the new Scheme, which is for the first time in our country, launched to provide Ease of Living at affordable rate to these extremely important contributors to the urban economy.

Available vacant govt funded housing complexes will be converted to ARHC via sustainable PPP model. Public/private entities, Industries, Institutions, Associations, State Parastatals, Central Govt Organisations will be incentivised to develop ARHCs on their available vacant land.

Manufacturers, other Employers in Services/Businesses, Educational Institutions, Home Aggregators etc may block houses/dormitories for urban migrant workers/poor/students etc @Affordable rent.
MoHUA in collaboration with States/ UTs/ULBs will finalise contour of this novel Scheme

Ministry will also be getting Model Tenancy Act finalised in a month to create conducive ecosystem for promoting rental housing. It will be circulated to States/UTs for legislation.
These measures will provide decent quality of life & social security to urban migrants/poor.

These will be close to their work sites at affordable rates across the country.

It will also stimulate investments in the Real Estate Sector that will create direct/ indirect jobs & positively impact construction related industries like cement, steel, transport, quarry etc.
