Fortunately Labor and Greens agreed a year later to introduce a price on pollution in the Gillard government, which led to Australia's emissions actually falling. This was a successful collaboration. #4Corners
To continue to dwell on Rudd's ETS failure and seek scapegoats, simply diverts attention from action that must be taken now. We must stop all new fossil fuel projects, and transition rapidly to renewable energy. And we must tackle other sources of emissions. #4Corners
Coal is our worst source of emissions, and fracked gas may be as bad. Not far behind are logging native forests and building motorways, instead of public transport. We can keep arguing about 2009 or we can get on with tackling these now. #4Corners
