Let's watch #Apollo13AtHome today at 1pm PT!

"The Astronaut is only the most visible member of a very large team. All of us, right down to the guy sweeping the floor, are honored to be a part of it."

"The best part of each one of us - the belief that anything in possible."

This is where the Apollo 11 astronauts walked on the moon.

It is very odd to see them smoking in Mission Control

Fun fact - the cast/crew flew in a vomit-comet like aircraft (like the one I flew in for my profile pic) to capture the weightless clips of the movie.

My flight was in a C-9, theirs was in a KC-135.

A typical flight on a vomit comet is probably between 20-40 parabolas. The crew completed 612 parabolas to get everything they needed to film this movie and omg I'm barfing just thinking about that.

Also, fun fact - they didn't actually say the popularly quoted phrase "Houston, we have a problem."

Jack Swigert actually said, "Okay, Houston, we’ve had a problem here."
