In many states in India it's a crime to sacrifice animals and birds for Hindu Deities, while sacrifices for Islamic Deity Allah is perfectly legal.

The act becomes a crime warranting arrest and imprisonment only when done by Hindus.

This is against the basic tenets of justice.

In Andhra, Telangana, Gujarat, Pondicherry, Kerala, Karnataka, Rajasthan its forbidden by law to sacrifice animals for Hindu Deities.

There is no law against killing of animals or even sacrifice by Muslims and Christians. An act becomes a crime based on the religion of the doer.

The judiciary have also issued arbitrary orders to ban animal sacrifices at Shaiva, Shakta temples and even at the Shaktipeeths based on frivolous petitions.

The judges seems to be driven by an obstinacy that all the rituals must conform to the Victorian moralities they cherish.

Forbidding Hindus to indulge in an act which is freely allowed for Muslims and Christians is against the concept of equality before law.

And criminalising an act based on religion is the perversity of our legislators and the lordships.

The continued assault on Shaiva and Shakta Sampradayas and their temples is a classic example of how a few attempts to cannibalise the diversity of rituals and beliefs within Sanatana Dharma.

This aids only those who wants to homogenise Hindu society for their political benefits

Animal Sacrifices Prohibition Act is a criminal law that discriminates and divides people on the basis of religion and is applicable only to Hindus.

The law needs to be repealed in Karnataka, Kerala, Gujarat, Andhra, Telangana, Pondicherry, Rajasthan

Judgment of Kerala High Court sanctifying Animal Sacrifice Prohibition Act has many defects and factual errors.

Most glaring is the refusal to consider or apply Article 14 and 15(1) of Indian constitution in deciding on the law which divides people on the basis of religion.

Petition filed in Supreme Court challenging the Animal Sacrifices Prohibition Act which is applicable only to Hindus and criminalise an act on the basis of religion.

Kerala HighCourt had dismissed plea without hearing the petitioners.
