“I think we’re passed kneeling.”

-Jay-Z

According to Jay-Z, folks like #GeorgeFloyd are killed by police because they grow up in a single parent home causing an “adverse feeling toward authority” which turns into telling police “f*ck you,” resulting in interactions that are deadly.

Jay-Z’s thinking blames the people for police brutality.

Jay-Z echoed this thinking during his NFL presser: “a lot of people are losing their lives” because police and community communication “is broken,” again citing people without fathers as a factor.

The NFL partnership attempts to replace the police brutality protests with something deemed more palatable: blaming the community.

Goodell said, “no,” he is not making a statement on policing, but will ”make our communities better by sharing perspective.”

The NFL’s #InspireChange effort is in sharp contrast to Colin Kaepernick’s call for the system to be dismantled.

And the pattern continues as we have seen with #AhmaudArbery and #GeorgeLloyd.
